Is there any karma concept in Islam ?
The answer depend on how you interpret it. when I studied in madrasah long time back I could not recall if there is any similar word in Islam compare with "Karma" .

let us get the idea what karma is in Hinduism/Budhism
it is the term use for cause and effect or what comes around will come around. your action has the consequences, for every action they will always reaction if you do bad or good the affect will goes back to you. your fate is never set you are the one who create your fate. you are the one who create your own happiness and misery. so if you did bad or good thing in the past you will be reincarnated as what you've done. you can reach Moksha  or reincarnated as human. but if your past so bad you may end up reincarnated to be animals in the future life.
This concept in Islam absolutely rejected. we don't believe in reincarnation. Islam believe God the one who control everything, we depend on Him, he is the source of everything and we human has been given free choice to think and chose to be bad or to be good and in the end He is the one who judge us and recompense with Hell or heaven.
1. If Karma means every word, deed and thought of man has its fullest consequences/ natural law/ cause and effect. than this term could be called "'Sunatullah in islam". (sunatullah can be nature, society)
example : if you study hard you will upgrade the class.
when the bird alive they eat ants and when the bird die, the ants eat the bird.
2. If Karma means you are the one who create your own fate. than Islam disagree.no one can chose to which family, race, nation they will be born, we can not chose when we should die as we wish. it is the fate that has been written. furthermore if I was product of the soul from the past why i couldn't be so wise or smart after all bad thing I've done in the past.what did i learn ? and why people who probably has good karma and born as king queen yet they still do an error and how long this Karma keep rotation until certain human can reach mokhsa. ? keep in mind no man is perfect. does reincarnated soul means rebirth again ? means those soul when they rebirth again become zero experience/knowledge again, yet when it comes to dejavu they said that's the proof that we are incarnated but my question how could my soul amnesia that i couldn't remember what was my name and family before.
Islam very clear that every soul is created by God and it will return to God. and we believe in Qadar and Qadar.
How karma can answer below example.
* bad leader during his life cause corruption war, no one can touch him, he live in his glory until even his death. so in this case Karma seem does not work. but In Islam we understood as "istidraj" God withhold the punishment in the world but later on in final judgment God will punish him.
*There is a case you do good thing but instead you get bad thing as recompense, people betray you, use you, injustice to you. put you in jail until death example. in this case karma seem does not work. but in Islam we believe that all bad thing that happens to you if you accept it ikhlas/sincere it will expiate all your sins. and the person who do bad to you will get recompense either now or later in final judgment.
In Islam we don't believe ill fortune. means if today I am very poor, handicap, ugly it is because my past life I was bad person. no we don't believe at all. instead we believe God create us with different condition and if we are content/ sincere with what we have. God will recompense it in final judgment far more than what we have.
the condition poor, ugly, etc it just to make human learn a wisdom and know that we are weak and we can do nothing except by His will. God did not see you are ugly, poor or rich. He look at your effort to be "Better person " the person who know who His creator and know how to thanks. (even if you dont thanks and worship him it doesnt cause anything in His glory. we human need him as we depend everything to Him)
so we can see the different right ?

(QS Fushshilat [41]: 43)

Kenapa? (sekedar mengerti)

Punya banyak perbendaharaan kata Contoh Bahasa arab klasik nyebut kuda, singa lebih dari 10 kosa kata(kuda jantan, kuda betina, kuda yang baru lahir, kuda yang kecil, kuda umur sekian tahun lain lagi) Nyebut tuhan setidaknya ada tiga “Allah, Ilah, Rabb” kalo Bahasa Indonesia adanya ya satu tok “ Tuhan” doank. Adalagi kata kerja perintah. Punya 28 alphabaet, Bahasa inggris aja ada 26. Menurut mbah google kosa kata terbanyak Bahasa Arab. Ya itupun kalo percaya soalnya gak pernah ngitung sih.
Arabic 12.302.912 words
English 600.000 words
French 150.000 words
Russia 130.000 words

You have to stand for something

Realizing there is always obstacle in your life. that's fine. But wherever you go you need to stand on your value, your Principe.Be it is your religion, your ism, your moral value whatever and hold it firmly.People who has no character will go wherever the wind blows. you don't need to follow the crowd if it goes against your Principe. You don"t need to pleased everyone so they may like you, just be simple, be who you are, stand on your value, keep your integrity and that's it. (Siti)

If you afraid of criticism, say nothing, do nothing and be nothing.

Speaking manner in Islam

Have you ever in the situation sitting with a friend but suddenly when her native friend coming they speak their own language that you dont understand. you become desolated, or they whispering each other while look at you ? or they speak loudly in their native language and laughing each other while looking at you ? what do you feel ?

in Islam it is not polite, Prophet PBUH said "When three of you are together, two of you must not converse privately ignoring the third till the number increases, lest the third should be grieved.
"In the presence of three people, two should not hold secret counsel, to the exclusion of the third"

so it is understood everybody love to speak with their own language, but when you have third friend who doesn't know your language so speak with common language that everybody understand.

Prophet Muhammad Pbuh told us the manner to talk. speak good or remain silent, no lying, no cursing/swearing, speak only when we have knowledge, the point of our speaking is it for truth and is it beneficial? refrain from senseless argument, if it is debate, debate in polite manner, if the debate goes to abusive word from the opponent then leave the conversation. speak with simple language, clear to understand. we should not stealing listening of other people conversation and interrupt them. we should not speak what we hear without investigation/ tabayun. we should not spread rumor that conflict others/ nameemah. we should no talk for the purpose to show superiority and put down others, we should not backbiting/ slandering people etc.

RING IN THE DESERT (please reflect)

Prophet Muhammad Pbuh has described in Hadist. that 7 heaven/layer is nothing than just a ring in the desert compare to the kursi of God let alone the arsh. so imagine a ring which is thrown in the sahara desert. ? this earth is nothing. Prophet even described that the distance so far 500.000 years between each layer. then How many kilometers ?

“It is Allah Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof His Command descends between them (heavens and earth), that you may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah surrounds (comprehends) all things in (His) Knowledge.”[at-Talaaq 65:12].

So imagine how big the majesty of Allah. indeed He is the allmighty God. Prophet Moses pbuh asked if he can meet Allah. Allah said nothing can see Him and alive. but he insisted to see to make his faith strong. so Allah command him to go the mountain. Allah send the angel and the light melted the mountain and he felt unconscious. so If only the light we human cant even survive. let alone human claim there is God in the earth, eat and beaten down, spatted and killed/died.
we just spec of spec of spec compare to the majesty of God. who the most unjust to HIM ? indeed it is insulting God.

Allah said hadist qursi `The son of Adam has denied Me, and that is not his right. He has insulted Me, and that is not his right. As for the denial of Me, he claimed that I am unable to bring him back as he used to be (resurrect him). As for his insulting Me, he claimed that I have a son. All praise is due to Me, it is unbefitting that I should have a wife or a son.'

We shall show them Our signs on the horizons and within themselves until it will be manifest to them that it is the Truth. Does your Lord not suffice, since He is Witness over all things? How! Are they still in doubt about the meeting with their Lord? Is not He surrounding all things? Surah Fussilat (41:53-54)
Allahu Akbar. Allah is the Greatest.

Muslim funeral.

Islamic funeral is the simplest ceremony among all other faith/religius funeral ceremony. The janazah/corpse should be washed. the purpose is to physically cleanse the corpse. No embalmment allowed for preserving the corpse because it should be burried as soon as possible. However washing/bathing will not be possible if the person died due to accident/martyr. (damage janazah) or supposed the person dead in overseas which need embalmment due to delivery and paper work however shariah does not favor as the deceased should be burried soon.the janazah should be treated with respect and compassion so burning, chopping the corpse is forbidden.

After bathing, the janazah will be shrouded/ kaffan with white cotton clothes. No any belonging could be kept with Janazah. Ring, gold, watches should be removed. All Muslim's janazah wearing the same clothes either king, sultan or even poor people will wear the same thing, the white clothes. The society then gathering offer a prayer to janazah and deliver to the grave. before taking to the grave the preacher will announce to the people in case the person who passed away has debt to inform to family. because in Islam we believe debt will bring the person to the hell unless it is paid. During the way to the grave no music, dancing, singing is permitted. It is forbidden for muslim for wailing, yelling, tearing the clothes, hitting the chest because of the sorrow. Instead sincerity accepts the will of God. Inalillahi wainailahi rojiun. “To Allah we belong to Him we return”.

Bury the deceased no coffin needed. It just few wood to cover the janazah before the soil cover the hole. It is fard kifayah/mandatory for muslim society to bury the janazah otherwise the muslim society will be in sin for abandoning the janazah. (supposed there is unknown people who passed away hence the society will gather together to bury the deceased).

The society/mosque will give the family shadaqah/charity to help them for the ceremony cost. wood, clothes etc. The aim to light the burden those family who are in grieve as it is suppose not to make them in debt or difficulty.

"Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion".3:185
Say: 'Death, from which you are fleeing, will certainly catch up with you.
Then you will be returned to the Knower of the Unseen and the
Visible and He will inform you about what you did.'
(Surat al-Jumu'ah: 8)

INTEGRITY

It was in lunch time when every of us sitting down and start to chit chat talking about anything. my atheist friend start to question or rather make fun about The prophet Muhammad Pbuh. "Siti dont you think it is wrong having more than one wife ? I am asking you because you are woman I mean does it make a sense believing something that logically it is wrong ? and before I even answer my other Muslim friend saying "yes absolutely wrong, I din't believe either. honestly religion is just bunch of dogma created thousand years ago and yup sometime doesn't make sense..bla..bla..and they start blabbering and sometimes laughing. I tried to answer but it is not the point to explain here.

Once everyone left. I questioned my Muslim friend "are you Muslim.?" he responded "yes" but I am not fanatic. "well, you should not say yes when you are not, you should have integrity of what you believe. declare yourself for what you think right but pretending to be Muslim yet defaming for fame and theme or for the sake of fun absolutely not right for me. be who you are. stand for who you are. be true."

Some woman love to have white skin and blue eyes for the ideal husband as what they dreaming of. but sad thing they tried hard to change themselves and even change the attitude, the style just to uplift the class, matching as much as possible. and even compromise the faith. they don't have integrity, they don't have Principe. goes wherever the wind blows. they don't have character or as people said "they are the moderate"

Integrity in every form of life. whether it is your faith, your work, your family, your friend etc. the sample of above in form of faith. your work.? you may find people who likes to knock down other friend finding mistakes just to show to the boss that they are doing great job. they buttering in front but in the back talking bad about the boss. integrity stand still. they hold on their values whether it is seen or not whether it is appreciated or not they just do what they think it is right. they don't compromise cheating. they don't compromise double face. integrity is choosing your thought and action based on values rather than personal gain

Those people who are fanatic are the people who has integrity. they comitted to what they think is right. whether their perception, their values are wrong to other people opinion yet they are the people who has the integrity. Standing for what is right even if you stand alone.

Fanatisme
Sedemikian umum sehingga lahir ungkapan “Right or wrong it’s my country“.
Demikian Wa Allah A’lam. [M. Quraish Shihab]
